Season to be jolly..not.
'Tis the season to be jolly..not!
I just went blog-hopping. You have no idea how many people were either feeling depressed or pissed or sad or angry or hurt. They were like cursing everywhere. Capital letters everywhere. Is this the season to feel all this crap feelings? I was majorly surprised when I read the entries written by different people. Some were saying how they hate school, or their life. Some were cursing their way to describing how angry and pissed they were about some people's actions and attitude. Some were feeling all depressed about life and having some problems they can't talk about to anyone, or not being able to find the right significant other. Wow.
Anyway, yesterday was my AAP and FON common tests. AAP was ok. Did a few spelling mistakes and other stupid forgetful mistakes. But basically I know the concepts and might actually get a distinction, that is if I had spelt my stermocleidomastoid correctly. For FON, man, am I screwed. I was all the way, most of the time, guessing which answer sounds most reasonable for the MCQ. For the so-called Short Answer Questions, which are like 10 and 15 marks each (now you know why I said so-called), I wrote quite a lot of rubbish. If I don't fail FON, I'll probably pass borderline.
Anyway, the 8 of us, have planned an outing at East Coast during the 1-week break. I can't wait.
117th IOC Session in Singapore
David and Victoria Beckham and Raul are in town! Argh! And Mohammad Ali too! And Bloomberg! And all those top athletes. This is History in the making for Singapore. This is sooo cool. I'm gonna watch Channel News Asia tomorrow for the voting result.
IOC President Jacques Rogge told IOC members they had a tough decision to make on Wednesday when they choose the 2012 hosts from five major world city candidates - London, Paris, New York, Madrid and Moscow - in the most closely fought bid contest in Olympic history. - http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/156268/1/.html
The Chirac-Blair match up in Singapore has been given added spice due to the apparent deepening personal animosity between the pair, and the historic rivalry between their two nations.
The rivalries flared on Monday when consultants to the London Olympic bid in Singapore criticised Paris' Stade de France, a centrepiece of the French capital's campaign, in apparent breach of the IOC rules.
The Paris delegation reacted with some barbs of its own, with Paris mayor Bertrand Delanoe quick to take the moral high ground.
"I think that to deserve victory you have to respect the Olympic spirit and demonstrate fair play," Delanoe said when asked about the remarks.
Chirac himself added to the tensions with comments published in Monday's edition of the Liberation newspaper, ridiculing British cooking.
"The only thing they have done for European agriculture is 'mad cow (disease)'," he reportedly said during a weekend meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder.
"You can't trust people who have such lousy cooking," Chirac added, labelling British cooking the worst in Europe apart from that of Finland.
Blair reacted with good humour and a diplomatic straight bat on Tuesday.
"Particularly at this moment, if you will forgive me, I don't want to get tempted down that path," he said with a grin when asked about the cookery comments. - http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/156240/1/.html
Oka-ayy. Hopefully nothing comes out of all this. Like, you know, conflicts. Or worse. I mean some people do take stuff to heart. And I wouldn't be surprised if London win this bid. He came on Sunday, way earlier than the rest of the representatives. So he got to talk a lot of one on one with the IOC members. Smart move.
I don't really follow the news (but now I am, especially about this), so I don't know why the session's in Singapore. Anyway if you want to know more, go to Channelnewsasia.com.
I want to bring Min to Genting Highlands' Haunted House.
